Week Ending 2nd August 2019

Welcome to my Friday dribble where a talk about things agri, food and sport.

We have mentioned before about the tightening milk supply in this country. Well it is starting to bite. BGA came out today with a downgrade to earnings that reflect having to pay up for continued milk supply. While not good news for BGA it should, in the long run, be good for the dairy farmers.

Also downgrading earnings this week was GNC. The prolonged drought is biting into their grains business, which shouldn't come as a surprise. The price of grain to the feed lotters must be getting borderline..???

Goat infant formula company BUB's came out with their quarterly this week and the results are something to bleat about. They are kicking goals in China and seem to be getting strong sales via most channels.

The dribble may not be around next week. I am off to the Louth Races again in outback NSW. Maybe I had better take a dust mask..!!
